Measuring Value
In Net Zero Education
An education‑safe research and evaluation initiative supporting evidence‑based net zero education in schools.

MCB Business Partners, creators of Net:Zed, leads research and evaluation to better understand the social, economic, and equity value created by net zero education programs delivered into schools and education systems.
This work marks the first formal application and external assessment of MCB’s value measurement approach in live school settings. The initial focus is on Net:Zed projects and programs, where learning is already being delivered in partnership with schools, industry, and government.
By starting with Net:Zed, MCB is able to test, refine, and validate the approach in real‑world education contexts — generating credible, aggregated insight while ensuring evaluation activity remains education‑safe, proportionate, and low‑burden for schools.
.

Why It Matters
As net zero education programs expand, industry and government increasingly seek confidence not just in delivery, but in the value created for students, schools, and communities.
This research exists to address a long‑standing gap: while participation numbers are easy to report, broader forms of value — such as relevance of learning, pathway awareness, confidence, and equitable access — are harder to measure consistently and responsibly.
By formally applying and assessing this approach for the first time through Net:Zed programs, MCB is establishing an evidence base that can inform future program design, investment decisions, and scaling — grounded in how students actually experience learning.

Who It’s For

What It Delivers

Research activity is being activated alongside Net:Zed projects currently being delivered alongside State and Commonwealth Government Authorities sponsored or funded initiatives, allowing the approach to be tested and assessed in parallel with real program delivery — rather than as a standalone or retrospective study.
This ensures insights are practical, grounded, and directly applicable to future net zero education initiatives.
